The module fits entirely inside the distributor body and installs in minutes using just one screw and two wiring connections. Ideal for preserving a classic look while enjoying modern ignition performance.

Which Coil Do I Need for My Lumenition Magnetronic Kit?

All Lumenition Magnetronic kits require a standard contact breaker coil. You have two main options:

1.) Standard 12V Coil (3 Ohm) (Recommended)

• Example: MS6 coil

• Works correctly with Magnetronic kits.

• Equivalent to our Remax ES2 and Remax ES5 coils:

  • ES5 – Same push-in fittings as the MS6

  • ES2 – Same specification but with acorn fittings

2.) Ballast Coil

• Example: MS4 coil

• Provides slightly better performance than a standard 12V coil.

• Important: The MS4 must be used with a ballast resistor.

  • Some vehicles already have a ballast resistor built into the wiring loom.

  • If not, you will need to fit one externally.

• Our MS4 coil comes supplied with a ballast resistor.
